Summary of “Reunion” by John Cheever

The story Reunion by John Cheever is about a meeting between a young boy named Charlie, and his father who had not seen since he divorced with his mother, three years before. Therefore, he was anxious to see him again. So, Charlie wrote his father a note that he would be in New York between trains for an hour and a half. His secretary wrote to say that he would meet him at the information booth, at noon.  Finally they met, and spent time together. At first, the story shows that Charlie was terribly happy to see his father again. But at last, he felt disappointed, maybe because during their meeting he discovered that his father is an alcoholic, and has a bad behavior. To conclude, that was the last time Charlie saw his father.
