Summary of “Sunday in the Park”

The short story Sunday in the park by Bel Kaufman is about a couple who was enjoying the park on a Sunday afternoon, with their son Larry. While Larry was playing in the sandbox, another child named Joe threw sand at him. As a result of this Larry’s mother tried to discipline the other kid. However, Joe’s father encouraged him to throw all the sand he want because that was a public sandbox. In addition, he intimidated Larry’s parents. Later on, after unpleasant incident, she felt ashamed. Maybe she wanted everything that happened would have been different. Also, she started arguing with Morton about discipline their son. She called him weak, when he criticized her for not disciplining their son efficiently. Furthermore, at the end she started threaten Morton like the guy in the park, using the phrase, you and who else?
